“My wife Missy and I have been married for more than 30 years and have four sons, Steven, Micah, Caleb and Luke. We became Christians in 1992 and I have been in full-time ministry since 1995.

I graduated from the Ministers Training Institute, Baker, LA in 1994 and then became the youth pastor at my local church. I served there for approximately four years when God began to open my eyes to the crisis that so many teenagers were facing.

At that time, suicide was the third leading cause of death among teenagers. So many young people were feeling hopeless and alone. My heart was broken for a lost and hurting generation. I knew that these young people needed to know that God had a purpose and a plan for each of their lives.

In 1998, God called me to start a para - church ministry designed to reach the youth of public schools. Face It! Ministries was born and we have been serving the youth of this community ever since.”

Steven Farmer

Operations Director

"I graduated from Ponchatoula High School in 2013, and Southeastern Louisiana University in 2017, with a degree in Communications. I grew up in a Christian family and have felt called into ministry since the age of six. My parents have been a major influence in my life and have taught me everything I know about Christ.

I feel that in high school, God truly put it on my heart to reach teenagers. After seeing the struggles they endure, it caused me to want them to know God. So many teenagers do not even know how to pray.

Young people are constantly trying to fit in and be loved, but struggle to find who or what can give them the identity and purpose they seek. I want to let them know as they face struggles and temptation, that only a relationship with Christ will provide the answers they need.”

Micah Farmer

Club Facilitator

“I graduated from Ponchatoula High School in 2017, and I am currently attending Oral Roberts University pursuing a degree in Ministry and Leadership. I grew up in a Christian home and made the greatest decision to give my life to Jesus when I was just six years old. Because of this decision, I have grown up serving the local church most of my life.

The other great passion in my life has always been soccer. I had dreams of playing the sport professionally, until a major injury changed my life during my sophomore year of high school. As I was recovering, I encountered Jesus in a new way and He rearranged my passions into what He had planned all along.

As I approached high school graduation, I knew that I had to make some life-changing decisions. God then confirmed in me that I was to be in full-time ministry. Working full-time for Face It! Ministries provides me the opportunity to introduce Jesus to young people and bring the hope and joy of the gospel into their lives.”

Taylor Lee “Curly”

Club Facilitator

Hey everyone! My name is Taylor Lee but everyone calls me Curly. I graduated from Ponchatoula High School in 2017, and became a Face It! Ministries intern in 2018. I feel like God has called me to full-time ministry and when God calls you to do something you have to be obedient! My story is pretty simple: I grew up in a broken home where no one served God and I went through all the struggles every kid goes through.

Then my freshman year of high school I was invited to go to a club called Face It! To this day I still remember the message I heard because of the impact it had on me. The message was called “Stay True to Yourself,” and it made me question if I was really staying true to myself.

I thought about how I put on a mask to fit in with everyone. I realized I had a decision to make: either live a full life for Christ or conform to the world. I chose to commit my life to Christ and I have had no regrets. Now, God has put it on my heart to continue in ministry. I am excited for the opportunity to help kids find the hope that only Jesus can provide.
